If you are suffering from drug or alcohol addiction Sober Freedom would like to help you live the life of happiness you deserve. It may not seem as though it’s possible to get over addiction now, but know this…thousands of people before you have and with the right support you can too.

What sets Sober Freedom apart from other providers of care for substance abuse is that we help people every step of the way. We don’t see “Rehab” as a stay in a residential treatment facility. The Path Towards Recovery

Step One

The first step towards recovery for anyone suffering from drug or alcohol addiction is to admit they have a problem. To outsiders, it may seem obvious the addict needs help but to addicts themselves, they must overcome the stranglehold of addiction that convinces them they are fine the way they are before they can begin to ask for help.

Step Two

When someone admits they have a problem, they can ask for help from family, friends, healthcare practitioners or from counselors and treatment centers. Asking for help, however, is not the same as accepting help. Addicts understand this all too well. Many times, they’ve realized they need help, ask for it, but fail to follow through and commit to a plan of recovery. If you understand the power of drug and alcohol addiction, this is a common reality that many addicts face more than once. Family members and friends should be as supportive as possible at this stage and maintain healthy boundaries with the person suffering from addiction while simultaneously encouraging them to take the next step towards recovery.

Step Three

Finally accepting help is a critical and vulnerable stage in the recovery process. The person that accepts help will need to prepare for serious life changes that may include detox, residential treatment, group and individual therapy and a willingness to be brutally honest with themselves and others.

Step Four

Recovery is a life-long process that people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol prepare for while they’re still in residential treatment. For some, they’ll find sober living facilities to live in before they leave treatment. Others will go back to their previous living arrangements. All will have a plan of ongoing therapy or group support once they leave. Those that commit themselves to recovery for the long term ultimately find the happiness they deserve.
